GoodI use this pen at work. Needed more since they write so smooth. This did what we needed it to do. Thanks for prompt delivery!Comfort: The grip is good, and the pen thickness is pretty good -- substantial enough to give you good control, but not so thick that it will cramp your hand up during longer sessions. It could probably stand to be just a hint thinner, but not much.Ink: Solid and tight lines (no thinning, no spreading). Good weight, but dries quickly enough that you won't have to worry about smearing. Nice darkness. Just about as good a balance as you'll find in a cheap pen.Clicker: Kinda hard to quantify, but if you are the sort of person that compulsively clicks your pen on and off while you're thinking or between tasks, you'll like this pen. The button has good resistance and a satisfying bounce-back when released. And, it doesn't get weaker as you use the pen in the longer term.Form Factor: As mentioned earlier, the pen could stand to shed a few grams, but it's not bad. The clip is pretty thick, with an "S" curve that keeps the pen from rolling around. But it might be thicker than some would want. Also, the pen has script writing and small hearts embossed on it (papermate branding), so it might fall a little bit on the feminine side.Other: New pens have a plastic coating on the tip of the pen, and you'll have to use a thumbnail to break it off or something. I guess that's not ideal? Nothing to lose sleep over, though.I ordered a whole box of these pens for the home office (which will probably last me several years). That's probably the first time I've ever actually gone out of my way to hunt down and buy a specific pen because I liked the one I was already using. Really, that's an action that speaks louder than words, and it's just about as high praise as a pen manufacturer can possibly get from me.Great pens, poor packageing. After reading reviews & considering a low sale price, I decided to try these Paper Mate gel pens.I usually use Pilot G-2 0.7mm pens, which are the same "on paper," so to speak (same type: gel, same price range generally, etc.). And I've been happy enough with the Pilot pens, except that when they get near being used up, they can stop writing smoothly all the time. When it comes to that, however, these Paper Mate pens are no better at all. In fact, I find Pilot's version better, although not to a huge degree. Mostly, they're about the same except that my Paper Mate pens seemed to more often skip releasing ink, causing spaces in lines (such as parts of a letter I'm writing) that lead me to have to go back and write over that portion to make it the solid line I intended. The only significant difference I found is that when writing back and forth as a test with Pilot and Paper Mate 0.7 thickness pens (which I just did for this review), both black ink on the same paper and surface underneath (a solid clipboard), it’s clear that the Pilot G2 0.7 pen creates darker, more solid lines and writes more smoothly and easily than the Paper Mate version of a 0.7 gel pen. If I hadn’t switched back and forth to do this test, it wouldn’t have been so obvious. But alas, it’s different enough that I’ll surely go back to using Pilot’s gel pen instead of Paper Mate’s.Plus, the price is about the same between these two brands’ comparable pens, especially if you watch for when they're on sale. They seem to go on sale fairly frequently, although often only in one color or one multi-color package at a time.SALE-WATCHING TIP WHEN USING AMAZON.COM: In order to notice when they’re on sale easily, I added the (Pilot only now, no more Paper Mates for me) pens in the colors and package sizes of interest to me to my cart, then moved them to “Save for Later.” That puts them below your cart so that anytime you buy something, you can easily scroll down the page and see the updated price (in fact, Amazon notifies you anyway whenever the price changes on anything in your cart, and I think that might apply to things being “Saved for Later”). It won’t ever add those things to your cart, nor delete them for being there too long. So you can leave things you want to keep an eye on for sale prices in this area & check them without having to navigate to another page, such as your save list pages. You can not only look anytime you’re buying something else and find yourself on the “Cart” page anyway, but if not buying anything, you can still click on “Cart” and see these “Saved for Later” items (I have other things saved there for the same reason, too).In conclusion re: these Paper Mate pens under review, I gave them only 2 stars because they functioned less than the text description of 3 stars that Amazon uses (i.e., “It’s okay”) and to make clear that there’s something better of this same exact type of pen in the same price range. But I don’t think there’s anything really “wrong” with these pens. I do suggest that anyone who likes these, though, try the Pilot version as well. Especially if you can compare them side by side at the same time, I expect most people would prefer Pilot’s gel pens of the same color and tip size.We really like this gel pen. Ink is dark and thick enough for aging eyes to read easily and dries quickly so it doesn't smear. Only downside is the ink runs out quickly for such a pricey pen.Everyone seems to have a "favorite" pen, and this is mine. After buying several two-packs at the local store, I liked these pens so much that I decided to go online and buy them in bulk.- These pens dry quickly and I find that the ink does not smear as it does with other gel pens (I am right handed, so please keep that in mind).- The ink consistently comes out in a smooth flow - there are not dry areas are globs of ink on the page.- The ink from these pens has not seeped through to the other side of the page in any weight of paper that I have tried, including my $1 notebook with very thin paper.- The side of the pens is just right for me, and my hand does not cramp when I write for long periods of time.- I am able to write quickly with these pens to keep up with fast note-taking, but the ink does not flow so quickly that my writing turns into an incomprehensible mess of ink.Overall, if you haven't found your favorite writing utensil yet, consider these! These pens are so much cheaper than equivalent gel pens, and I find that they write and work even better than their more expensive counterparts. Does not leak.Comfortable to hold. These pens are great value for money and last for some time. If you are a lefty smudge free because it dries quicker than ink. Good grip which makes it easy to handle without hurting your fingers.12 pensmy fave amongst the rest ..writing reportssign....etcIt nice to have sent to the house
