Older Grandchildren thought they were awesome. Inexpensive great just because gift. Not cheaply made though. Well made.This pen works great as a pen and comes with the battery installed. Everything that I have always dreamed for writing in the dark or in daylight. I highly recommend this well constructed pen with that beauty night light.I used these when I work night shift. They offer light from one LED which is enough so see things at night without waking someone. Downside is the ink doesn’t last long, but replacements are included, and often the ink cartridge doesn’t stay in place - may push up a bit farther in the barrel, necessitating taking it apart and pushing the ink back down so you can write. Or sometimes the opposite - the ink cartridge slips down farther out of the barrel. The batteries seem to last pretty long and replacements were included. I probably wouldn’t get these as a gift unless it was meant to be something small. I absolutely love these when working nights and will probably order more when I go through these.Included (6) new ink cartridges and (3) batteries.Outstanding instructions for such a simple product.Smooth operation, interesting after glow ball inside.Grandkids will also love it...I ordered the set of three pens and found that one of them was not working. The seller was very responsive and not only sent a replacement but extra pens as well! The quick response and attention was really appreciated and the product is excellent!*** READ THE UPDATE AT THE BOTTOM!***Love it.Writes very smooth.Build isn't as nice as it feels. Within 10 minutes of using it, the threads between the plastic pen (bottom) and the metal(?) Light(top) came apart. The pen side keeps popping loose. I glued it together and now have no issues. For this reason, I won't buy it again. I'll keep it. I do like it and use it all the time. But I'll look for a better quality pen when it's time to replace it.***UPDATE***Alrighty!First off, I need to say, their response time and communication is 110%!I originally gave them only 2 stars. As you see now I've bumped it to 5. Not because of the replacement pens they sent me. Not even for the fourth pen that was included. (I'd rather pay for the product and have zero issues.)They received 5 stars for one main reason... CUSTOMER SERVICE!Over a few days following my original review, we emailed back and forth. The response I received was thoughtful and attentive. They actually listened to my wants and desires out of a writing instrument. I have no doubt that my concerns and issues noted above will be addressed I am excited to see the future products they develop. I'm hoping for a heavier, higher end and more tactical pen in this format. Hint, hint...I don't mind spending my money with someone that has customer service like this. I will definitely be ordering from them again! These 4 pens I received today will be going to friends as gifts.Now onto a review a few weeks after. I haul frac sand in the West Texas oilfield. I'm in a very dusty environment. My glue mod has given me zero new issues. I did, however, start having issues with the light switch on top start sticking on. At first a slight tap would pop it lose. But after a while, it just stuck on. I disassembled it, cleaned the sand( I had it in my pocket while unloading the stuff.) out, reassembled it and it's working fine! I leave it in the truck now. Another worry was the life of the batteries. I'm always in low light areas and have it on a lot. Not to mention it ends up being a flashlight almost every time I have it in my hand. The batteries haven't shown any signs of discharge. I'm impressed!I also received a personal note. I marked out some personal information in the picture below. Thank you Tony!Bought this pen for the little earth Vader to hold! It’s so cool and fit perfectly!My job requires me to write things with low light so I bought these thinking it would help. These pens are super useful in the dark and have a nice amount of light. However they come apart too easily. I bought a package of 3 and have only 1 left because they come apart inadvertently. I realize they come apart on purpose so you can change out the ink & battery but that is when you want or need to change ink & battery. Mine seem to loosen on their own in my pocket. I would tighten them but I found myself tightening them every time I’d go to use it. Got a bit annoying. A few times I’d try to not deal with tightening the pen and then it would just come apart. The parts are in several small pieces so it is hard to put back together properly ( spring, ink, click button, pen tube, battery, etc). Will be looking for another option. Bummed cause the actual pen itself gave off great light and wrote nicely.Update: January 2019So the company sent me some new pens since my original review stated that I wasn’t completely satisfied. After receiving the new pens, I have used them now for several months and have found that the pens have held up quite well. I use the pens in the complete dark (for work) and the glow of the pens is not overwhelming but gives off enough light that I can do the work required of my job. I will be adding the remaining 2 stars giving the pens a 5 star rating. Every now and then I have to tighten the pen as it loosens over time & with usage. As far as the function of the pen it works nicely . The light and the ink work great. I often get asked about the pen and people admire it. Also the pen company didn’t hesitate to replace my original set of pens. I didn’t give the first set of pens enough time. The company’s commitment to quality of there product was A+.Bought these for writing in the dark (Dream Diary) so that I don't have to put a main light on.First impression is they seem really good, they arrived quicker than I thought they would too.I do so I when I noticed them for sale I ordered five. I loved having the light for writing at night but I wondered how long before I'd have a problem because of course they'd be sensitive....One Week..the light started flickering.Works well. Making notes through the night doesn't have to bother anyone.Good value with extra batteries & ink .The two that don’t crap out are goodI really like the way these light up the page . Old eyes need light LOL
