These pens are great for embossing detailed images, drawing & embossing your own designs or handwriting, and fixing any knicks or scratches in a larger embossed piece (craft tweezers anyone?).I purchased these pens when I first started dabbling in papercrafts about 8-9 months ago. Back then, I didn't realize that I needed an anti-static powder tool of some kind, so all of my attempts using these were a mess. A few days ago, I was clearing out some of my craft storage boxes and thought about tossing these pens, but they were still brand new & were not dry at all. I had a few panels of boring experiments that were sitting around, so I thought I've give these pens another shot & see if I can jazz up some of those panels. This time, I loved results. I'm attaching a picture of the first piece that I tried the pen on. It's a watercolored & dry-embossed henna design that was dull dull dull. After using the clear version of this pen to highlight a portion of the raised design & adding a bit of embossing powder to it, the piece was interesting enough to mount on a card - at least I thought it was! :)I did notice that the ink in these pens dry a little more quickly than the ink pad seems to - possibly because the ink that you are laying down with the pen is a much thinner & finer layer. You'll have to stop and heat emboss in sections and powder again before you do another section, if you are doing more than a few words of text. The image that I included was done in 8-10 sections. I think the results can definitely be worth the effort. I've since gone to town with these pens, embossing all kinds of details (by the way, using this pen on the highlights of your Altenew flowers instead of using an embossing inkpad results in a crisper clearer image), and the pens have still not run dry, so they seem to last quite a while.I've tried this technique using a glue pen in the past (e.g., Quickie Glue Roller Pen, Zig Squeeze & Roll, etc.), and they all work pretty well if I'm just wanting to do a small dot or a doodle or something; however, they were all a bit inconsistent and skipped or blobbed if I tried to draw a consistent line or wanted a consistent thickness. Since this embossing pen is a marker, I get a smoother and more consistent finish. Also, it is much easier to fix mistakes or tweezer marks on a large embossed image with this pen than with an embossing ink pad. This was just perfect for what I wantedI use this to draw or fill in spots with embossing powder. It is convenient to use instead of pulling out a pad to ink up the embossing area. The black pen makes a medium fine line and is as easy to use as any marker. I could not get the top off the clear pen so it is useless.Needs to have a much finer tip for writing..after embossing handwriting, it's way too thick. Both pens worked great with my embossing powders. I tried them on drawing paper and watercolor paper and they worked better on the former. I tried the black on black cardstock with metallic gold embossing powders and it worked fantastic! For the price, they're worth it. In the photo attached, I used the clear pen with silver embossing powders and the lines were the perfect thickness.Bought these embossing pens after a recommendation from another person. They fit perfectly in the pen slot in your Cricut Maker Machine with no adjustment needed.Use them on the draw function to write or draw your chosen image the same as you would with the Cricut pens. You can then eject your mat, remove paper and tip over your embossing glitter and seal with your heat gun (obviously not included, bought separately or already owned)(Disclaimer - I’ve had my maker over a year so no longer in warranty but as your not actually removing or fiddling with the machine and they work the same as the Cricut pens I do not know if using them voids your warranty or not - you will need to check this yourself)On first opinion I was pleased as it fit my cricut maker, however I tried this out on card first to see how long it would take to dry before I needed to apply embossing powder and the black pen was totally dried out, tried shaking etc, Amazon were fab and refunded but stay away from this product complete waste of money.Brilliant pens , write as you please highly recommend . Stays fresh even when not used every day. Highly recommend , embosses beautifullyThese are amazing to use. They're so handy, for any heat embosser, u can go over your work really easily to perfect things, create your own designs. They are very juicy, and powder sticks well. Definitely worth it!Never having used any embossing items I bought this pack of two. I have used both black and white and had excellent results from both highly recommend, and far cheaper than an ink jet printer
